I have been working for York Academy Regional Charter School since it was first established. I began my journey at this school as an instructional assistant spending most of my time in first and second grade. l became well informed about the International Baccalaureate curriculum and student led learning. I was hired in 2012 as a third grade teacher. Every year I spend teaching third grade my joy and enthusiasm for educating continues to grow.

            In December 2010 I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with my Bachelor of Science Degree. I have recently completed a Reading Specialist Certificate Program at Penn State York. Continuing my education is important so that I can work harder to also grow the knowledge and skills of the children in my classroom. I grew up close to York, in a town called East Berlin. I spent many years working as a lifeguard. In my personal time I prefer to spend my time reading, cooking, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

            In my classroom I work hard to foster a supportive classroom environment. On a daily basis I do my best to make sure children feel confident and comfortable. They are given instruction on their level with the opportunity to grow and be challenged academically.
