COVID-19

COVID-19 Hub

We are committed to keeping our YARCS family in the know. This page serves as our COVID-19 Hub and will be updated regularly. You can also view our Daily Dashboard below.

The health and safety of our students, families, staff and community is a top priority for York Academy. With the increase in infections of the Omicron variant and the rising cases in York County, masks will remain in place at the York Academy for all students, staff, parents and visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Make sure to send your children to school wearing their own masks. It can't hurt to tuck an extra one in their backpacks, too.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently issued new guidance on quarantine/isolation protocols on December 27, 2021. Since our Health and Safety Plan aligns with CDC directives, we will follow the recommended time for quarantine and isolation.

It's very important that you continue to monitor your child for symptoms each morning before sending them to school so we can keep our YARCS family safe.

Did you know we have a quick and easy Daily Screening Tool? Click here to print it out and put it on your refrigerator.
Watch for headache, fever (over 100°), chills, cough, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, fatigue, muscle/body aches, difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of taste/smell.

This is not a comprehensive list, but please keep your children home if they show any of these symptoms and contact school nurse, Mrs. Urey. She will also need to know if you or someone who lives with you (and your children) tested positive for COVID-19, are getting tested, or are waiting for test results. You can reach her at (717) 900-5001 or murey@yorkarcs.org

You can also pull up the Daily Screening Tool on the YARCS mobile app in a snap! Haven't downloaded it yet? Look for York Academy Regional Charter in your app store. Watch this short video from Dr. Lowe to learn more.

As with all vaccinations, if your child received the COVID-10 vaccine, please take a picture of their card with your phone and email it to Ms. Halloran (K-6) or Mrs. Urey (7-12) for our records.

A list of FAQs for families is also available and will be updated as needed. Click here to read it in English or click here to read it in Spanish.

Thank you for "unknighting" in the fight against COVID at York Academy. Your support is deeply appreciated.
