York Academy library is an extension of Martin Library and the York County Libraries. This provides many advantages to our students. For example, students learn advanced searches in the online catalog. They may renew books, place holds and have books delivered to school for them. They also have access to many programs.  These free resources include Hoopla, Book Flix, and POWER Library. The best way to locate these resources is by using the York County Libraries website. Special instructions for locating free research databases of POWER Library are located here.

Students have library class once each 6-day cycle. Kindergarten through fifth grade students learn basic book care, library organization and research skills. Lessons in their language arts classes are reinforced with literature from the library. Curriculum content is based on the International Baccalaureate model, the Model Curriculum for PA School Libraries, PA Common Core Standards, ISTE (International Standards for Technology in Education) and AASL standards (American Association of School Librarians). Work assigned to MYP students is research and project oriented.

Please contact our librarian, Corinne DeLone-Ladd, with any questions or concerns.
