Dear
York Academy Families,
Earlier this evening, the Board of Trustees approved the
amended York Academy Phased
School Reopening Health and Safety Plan. (Click here to read it in Spanish.) This means that students will have the option to return to school in-person on Monday, February 1.
While York County is in the Moderate level of
transmission (based on data from the COVID-10 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard) students will come to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and
Fridays. They will learn virtually on
Wednesdays so we can deep clean the buildings.
Please
see the chart below for more details regarding when we move into the Moderate
and Low levels of transmission.

So that
we can plan for February 1, you will need to choose a learning model (in-person
or eLearning) by Friday, January 22. Please
note that you will be making this decision for the remainder of the school year.
In order
to complete the form, you will need to include
your child's York Academy ID Number. You can find it on their Progress
Report (sent on 1/8/21) or on their report card from November. If you are not
able to locate it, please email your child's homeroom teacher so they can help
you.

Click here to choose in-person or eLearning,
To help
with this decision, we will be holding two Virtual
Q&A Sessions to answer your questions about the return to in-person
instruction. Videos from the sessions will be posted here so you can
watch them if you miss them live. Click below to join the Zoom meeting(s):
- Tuesday,
January 19 at 12:00 p.m.
- Tuesday,
January 19 at 6:00 p.m.
We have also compiled this list of Frequently Asked Questions that may help you. It includes information about pool
testing, which is a proactive approach that provides an additional layer of
safety for your child and our staff.
If your child is planning to come back in-person and
needs transportation/busing, please call (717) 801-3900, ext. 1401 or email
Yailine Eshelman, our Transportation
Coordinator, to make sure you have the required forms and paperwork.
We look forward to seeing your children back in person and are
excited to have a terrific second half of the school year!
Stay safe and healthy,
Ms. Sugarek
