COVID-19 Response

COVID-19 Update

In an effort be transparent and provide important information for families, we have created the York Academy COVID-19 Dashboard.  Click here to view it now.

In January, the Board of Trustees approved the amended
York Academy Phased School Reopening Health and Safety Plan (Spanish version).  While York County is in the Moderate level of community transmission, based on data from the COVID-10 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard, students will come to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. They will learn virtually on Wednesdays so we can deep clean the buildings.

Please see the chart below for more details regarding when we move into the Moderate and Low levels of transmission.

Please refer to this screening tool before sending your child to school each morning. Make sure that your child's mask fits well, covering both the nose and mouth. Be aware that the state requirements for travel changed in November, and any travel outside of Pennsylvania should be reported to the school.

If your child stays home, please complete this absence form or provide a note indicating the date of the absence and your child's symptom so the nurse can review it. For multiple or prolonged symptoms, a doctor's note may be needed to return to school.

If your child develops symptoms during the day, please be prepared to pick them up within 30 minutes. It's important to review your contacts to be sure they are correct. You can update this information in Sapphire (keyword is charter), or call the main office at (717) 801-3900. Written follow-up instructions will be provided for the adult designated for pickup.
