International Baccalaureate

The York Academy is an authorized
International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We are proud to be the only school in York County - and one of two in Pennsylvania - authorized to educate students via the Primary Years Programme (K-6)Middle Years Programme (7-10) and Diploma Programme (11 & 12). For students, success in the IB often results in advanced standing, course credits, scholarships and other admissions related benefits at many colleges and universities.

The IB programmes focus on teaching students to think critically and independently, and how to inquire with care and logic. The IB  framework prepares students to succeed in a world where facts and fiction merge in the news, and where asking the right questions is a crucial skill that will allow them to flourish long after they’ve left the Academy.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of an inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision. The IB curriculum is shared in over 5,000 schools globally in 150 countries world-wide.
