StudentsIn 2011, the York Academy Regional Charter School was established as a nonprofit public school by three chartering districts—Central York, York City and York Suburban. There is no tuition cost to attend the Academy and students from all school districts are welcome to apply. At this time, we educate students in kindergarten through 10th grade. A grade level will be added each year, and the York Academy will be a fully-enrolled K-12 public charter school in August 2021.

In accordance with our school charter, each grade is filled with a specific number of students and selected by lottery. Applicants who are not selected in the lottery are placed on a waiting list. If all seats are not filled by students from the chartering districts, open seats are made available to applicants from other districts throughout Pennsylvania. Students from 11 districts attend the Academy.

We are currently accepting applications for students who are in eighth and ninth grades. Please contact us at info@yorkarcs.org/(717) 900-5001 for details or complete and submit the application below. Although most other grade levels are filled for the 2019-20 school year, we encourage you to submit an application so your child may be added to the waiting list if a seat becomes available.

Email the completed application to Tina Ziegler at tziegler@yorkarcs.org or drop it off at the Lower School office. You may also mail it to her attention at York Academy Regional Charter School, 32 W. North Street, York, PA 17401.

If you are interested in admissions for the 2020-21 school year, please join us at an upcoming Open House Information Session in January or February. We will provide an overview of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, student and parent expectations, school policies, and the admissions process. Tours will be available after the presentation. No RSVP is required. We look forward to seeing you and your family!

Upper School (Grades 7-11): 2 Hamilton Avenue, York
Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00 p.m.

Lower School (Grades K-6): 32 W. North Street, York
Saturday, February 1 at 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, February 6 at 6:00 p.m.

If your child is offered admission, we will need the following documents to complete the registration process and enroll your student in the York Academy:

•  Personal identification of the parent/guardian
•  Proof of child's identity (birth certificate)
•  Immunization record and current medical records
•  Proof of residence
•  A copy of transcripts for any previously attended school
